GIFanim - Animated GIF maker

GIFanim is a small app. for creating animated (cycling) GIFs from static images. It is available as an applet or application.

GIFanim feature list

• Creates animated cycling GIFs from static images.
• Offers both applet & application based versions, as well as a 'large memory' version of the application for creating very large animated GIFs.
• Supports JPEG, (static) GIF and PNG formats. Possibly other formats (like BMP, ICO..) depending on support in the Java Plug-In it is running in (later versions support more formats).
• Is sand-boxed, for your greater security.

The above button launches GIFanim in the standard 64 Meg of memory. That may not be enough for creating very large animations, so we also offer a version that reserves 512 Meg of memory (8 times as much as the standard version), which should allow the creation of huge animated GIFs.*

* Note that these references to sizes in Meg - 'megabytes' apply only to the RAM used at run-time, the download size of GIFanim itself is tiny. See the latest version for the current size in bytes, but note that GIFanim will never be expected to exceed 100Kb in download size. 100Kb is just 0.1 Meg.

Version History

GIFanim is versioned by the date it was uploaded, in format YY.MM.DD, the latest version is 09.07.12. This date is also added into the program and shown when the About menu item is selected.
